Ep 2. Viking for Hire

In DreamWorks Dragons season 1 episode 2 titled Viking for Hire, viewers are introduced to the concept of dragon training, as Hiccup and Astrid work together to teach the dragon Toothless how to fly again.

The episode begins with Hiccup and Toothless taking a test flight around the village of Berk. Toothless is still struggling with his newfound prosthetic tail, and Hiccup is struggling to figure out how to fix it. Meanwhile, Astrid is busy training her own dragon, Stormfly.

As the day goes on, Hiccup finds himself in a bit of trouble when he accidentally sets fire to a Viking ship that is docked in the bay. In an attempt to make amends, he agrees to help the Viking owner of the ship, named Gobber, to find a new dragon to pull his plow.

Hiccup and Toothless set out on a mission to find a dragon, and eventually come across a large, rhinoceros-like dragon called the Gronckle. Hiccup is hesitant to take on such an enormous animal, but Gobber insists.

After a few unsuccessful attempts at taming the Gronckle, Hiccup realizes that the key to gaining the dragon's trust is to offer it something that it wants. He discovers that the Gronckle has a sweet tooth, and is willing to do just about anything for a taste of honey.

Hiccup and Toothless set out to find some honey, and eventually come across a beehive tucked away in a hidden part of the forest. They work together to get the honey and bring it back to the Gronckle, who is delighted.

With the Gronckle tamed, Hiccup and Toothless set off on a journey back to Berk. Along the way, they encounter a group of dragons flying in formation. Hiccup is amazed by the sight of these creatures in flight, and he vows to train Toothless to fly like they do.

As they make their way back to Berk, Hiccup and Toothless are intercepted by a deadly dragon called the Red Death. The creature is massive and menacing, with giant wings and a terrifying roar. Hiccup realizes that they are no match for this dragon, and he and Toothless flee in terror.

Back in Berk, Hiccup realizes that he needs to work much harder to train Toothless if they are going to stand a chance against the Red Death. He sets out to study the creatures, and eventually discovers their weak spot.

With this knowledge in hand, Hiccup and Toothless set out to face the Red Death once and for all. They battle fiercely against the dragon, but are ultimately successful in defeating it.

In the end, Hiccup realizes that dragon training is not just about mastering the art of taming beasts, but about learning to understand and appreciate them. He sets out to continue learning about dragons and teaching them to coexist with the Vikings of Berk.
