After successfully navigating their way through the treacherous island of Dragon's Edge, the dragon riders are back in Berk and attempting to train some new recruits. However, they soon realize that one of the dragons, a stubborn and independent individual named Garff, is not at all interested in taking orders from a mere human.
Despite their best efforts to train Garff, the dragon proves to be a formidable opponent, consistently challenging the riders' authority and refusing to follow commands. Eventually, the situation escalates to the point where the dragon riders are forced to take drastic measures in order to assert their dominance and establish their authority over Garff.
Meanwhile, tensions within the group begin to rise as Astrid and Hiccup find themselves at odds over the best way to handle the defiant dragon. Their disagreement puts a strain on their relationship, and they must find a way to reconcile their differences in order to effectively deal with the situation at hand.
As the dragon riders struggle to gain control over Garff, they begin to realize that the dragon's defiance may not be entirely unwarranted. They discover that he has been hiding a painful secret that has caused him to mistrust humans and reject their authority. The riders must work to earn Garff's trust and help him overcome his fears if they are to successfully train him and integrate him into their team.
In the end, the riders are able to overcome their differences and work together to earn Garff's trust and establish their authority over him. The episode serves as a reminder of the importance of empathy and understanding in dealing with difficult and defiant individuals, whether they be human or dragon. It also emphasizes the value of teamwork and cooperation in achieving common goals and overcoming obstacles.
