Dream High is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from January 3, 2011, to February 28, 2012. The show was created and produced by Park Jin-young, the founder and CEO of JYP Entertainment, a South Korean entertainment company. The series stars several notable actors including Kim Soo-hyun, Bae Suzy, Hahm Eun-jung, IU, Ok Taec-yeon, Jang Wooyoung, and Ahn Gil-kang, among others.

The show follows the lives of several students who attend Kirin Art High School, a prestigious music and performing arts school in South Korea. The school is home to some of the most talented young performers in the country, and the students are all striving to make it big in the entertainment industry. The story is set against a backdrop of intense competition, as the students battle it out for the top spots in the school's music and dance programs.

The main character is Go Hye-mi (played by Bae Suzy), a talented pianist who dreams of becoming a classical music star. Hye-mi is initially hostile to her classmates, but is soon forced to team up with them to compete in a nationwide music contest. Along the way, she falls in love with Song Sam-dong (played by Kim Soo-hyun), a country boy with a natural talent for singing.

Other key characters include Jin-gook (played by Taecyeon), a former taekwondo champion who wants to become a singer; Yoon Baek-hee (played by Ham Eun-jung), Hye-mi's childhood friend who dreams of becoming a K-pop star; and Kim Pil-suk (played by IU), an overweight student who dreams of becoming a singer.

Throughout the series, the students face a variety of challenges and obstacles as they try to succeed in the competitive world of performing arts. They must deal with jealous rivals, difficult teachers, and personal conflicts while also balancing their studies and romantic relationships.

One of the unique aspects of Dream High is that it features original music produced by Park Jin-young himself. The show's soundtrack includes several hit songs, including "Dream High," "Someday," and "Dancing on the Road."

The series was a critical and commercial success, with its first season averaging a 15.4% viewership rating. It spawned a spin-off series, Dream High 2, which aired in 2012 but did not receive the same level of popular success as the original.

Overall, Dream High is a compelling drama series that combines elements of romance, comedy, and musical performance. Its talented cast, engaging storyline, and memorable soundtrack make it a must-watch for fans of Korean television dramas.

Dream High is a series that ran for 2 seasons (33 episodes) between January 3, 2011 and on KBS2
