When Lightning Strikes is the thirteenth episode of the first season of the animated TV series Dragons: Riders of Berk. The show is based on the popular Dreamworks animation film, 'How to Train Your Dragon', and follows the adventures of young Viking Hiccup and his friends, who are training to become expert dragon riders.
In this episode, the village of Berk is hit by a massive storm, which causes widespread damage and destruction. Hiccup, his dragon Toothless, and the other dragon riders are tasked with helping to repair the damage and keep the village safe from any further harm. The storm also brings with it a strange phenomenon – lightning storms that seem to be striking the same spot repeatedly and causing even more damage.
As the riders begin investigating the strange lightning strikes, they discover that it is being caused by a newly discovered dragon, the Skrill. The Skrill is a rare and powerful dragon capable of generating enough electricity to create lightning storms. It has been accidentally released from its icy prison by the storm and now it is roaming free and wreaking havoc on the village.
As the dragon riders try to contain the Skrill and prevent it from damaging the village further, they realize that they need to come up with a plan to capture it and return it to its natural habitat. However, as they work on their plan, they discover that they are not the only ones interested in capturing the Skrill.
A group of dragon trappers arrive in the village, led by a man named Dagur the Deranged. Dagur is a ruthless leader who is determined to capture the Skrill by any means necessary – even if it means destroying the village and harming innocents. The dragon riders must now work together to not only capture the Skrill, but also to fend off the dragon trappers and protect their home.
The stakes are high for Hiccup and his fellow riders, as they realize that if they fail, their village could be destroyed, and the Skrill could become a powerful weapon in the hands of Dagur and his followers.
The characters in this episode display bravery, determination, and a willingness to work together for the greater good. The animation is top-notch, with detailed and expressive character designs and stunning landscapes. The action sequences are thrilling and tense, with impressive choreography and a sense of urgency that keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat.
Overall, When Lightning Strikes is a thrilling and exciting episode that highlights the strengths of the series – compelling characters, heart-pumping action, and a rich, immersive world. Fans of the original movie and newcomers alike will find plenty to enjoy in this gripping and well-crafted installment of Dragons: Riders of Berk.
