Hiccup and the Dragon Riders discover a mysterious cave that leads to an underground chamber full of gold and jewels. However, their excitement quickly turns to concern as they realize this treasure belongs to a group of aggressive dragons who aren't willing to share. Meanwhile, Fishlegs is determined to study the dragon behavior in the cave and devises a plan to keep the peace between the Riders and the territorial dragons.
As the group navigates through the cave, they discover that the dragons guarding the treasure are some of the most dangerous they have ever encountered. Hiccup and Toothless work together to try and reason with them, but their efforts prove futile. Despite their best attempts to make peace, the dragons remain hostile and refuse to budge.
As tensions rise, Fishlegs comes up with a plan to study the dragons' behavior and learn more about their temperaments. With the help of the other Riders, he sets up a series of experiments to observe the dragons in action. At first, the experiments go well, but things take a turn for the worse when the dragons become agitated and start attacking the Riders.
In a race against time, Hiccup and the team must find a way to pacify the dragons and claim the treasure before it's too late. But with the dragons growing more and more aggressive, their chances of success seem slim.
In the end, the Riders are able to come up with a plan that not only keeps the peace but also allows them to take the treasure they've found. But as they depart the cave with their newfound riches, they can't help but wonder if they'll ever be able to return and explore its depths fully without risking their lives.
