Ep 14. What Flies Beneath

After successfully evading the hunters and retrieving the Dragon Eye in the previous episode, Hiccup and his Dragon Riders are back on Berk. However, their moment of rest is short-lived as they discover a new enemy lurking beneath the surface of the sea.

The episode begins with Hiccup and Astrid out on a leisurely flight on their dragons, Toothless and Stormfly. While flying over the ocean, they spot something unusual. Upon closer inspection, they realize that there is a massive, whale-like creature swimming just below the surface. However, this creature doesn't seem to be a harmless whale. It is covered in a thick layer of barnacles and has a menacing set of sharp teeth.

Hiccup knows that they must investigate this creature further, so the group sets out to study it. They attempt to lure it closer to the surface using fish as bait, but their plan goes awry when the creature grabs Toothless and pulls him underwater. Hiccup and the others quickly mount a rescue mission, diving down to save their dragon from the creature's jaws.

Once they have Toothless safely back on land, Hiccup decides to go back underwater to investigate the creature more closely. He and Fishlegs build a diving bell to allow them to safely explore the deep ocean. Once they are submerged, they spot a whole colony of the strange creatures. They also discover that the creatures are not whales at all but rather some sort of hybrid between a whale and a dragon.

As the team continues to explore, they come across a massive cave full of treasure. However, when they attempt to take some of the treasure back to Berk, they discover that it is cursed. The curse causes them to hallucinate and experience terrifying visions.

Meanwhile, back on Berk, Tuffnut and Ruffnut end up stranded on a deserted island with their dragon, Barf and Belch. While at first, they are excited about their little vacation, they quickly realize that the island is not as deserted as they thought. They are soon being followed by a strange, shadowy figure that seems to be trying to attack them.

Overall, this episode of Dragons: Race to the Edge introduces a new enemy for our heroes to face while also showing off the incredible underwater world of the show. The addition of the cursed treasure adds an extra layer of danger to the episode, while Tuffnut and Ruffnut's storyline provides some lighthearted comic relief. Fans of the show are sure to enjoy this action-packed installment.
