Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman season 2 episode 3, titled "Halloween," is set in the small town of Colorado Springs in the late 1800s. The episode centers around the Halloween holiday, which has just arrived in town. As the townsfolk prepare for the celebration, tensions rise when a group of rowdy travelers arrives in town and starts wreaking havoc.
Dr. Quinn, played by Jane Seymour, is busy with her medical practice, but she also finds herself drawn into the Halloween festivities when her children start talking about costumes and candy. Sully, her love interest, played by Joe Lando, is also in town and joins in on the festivities. However, they both soon discover that something sinister is afoot.
The travelers, led by a man named Diggler, played by Tony Todd, are causing trouble all over town, stealing goods and terrorizing the locals. Dr. Quinn and Sully become worried when they hear that the travelers plan on visiting the town's orphanage, which is located outside of town and is home to many of the town's children.
The pair decide to make their way to the orphanage to make sure the children are safe. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles which make their journey more difficult, including a dangerous river crossing and a run-in with the travelers. However, they are determined to protect the orphans and stop the travelers from causing any more harm.
Meanwhile, back in town, the Halloween celebrations are in full swing. The townsfolk are dressed in costumes and enjoying the festivities. However, the party is abruptly interrupted when the travelers show up and start causing chaos. The town's sheriff, Matthew, played by Chad Allen, tries to restore order, but he is no match for the rowdy travelers. It quickly becomes clear that the townsfolk are going to have to take matters into their own hands.
As night falls, Dr. Quinn and Sully finally reach the orphanage. They discover that the travelers have already arrived and are threatening the children. A dramatic showdown ensues as Dr. Quinn and Sully face off against the travelers in a battle to protect the orphans.
The episode concludes with the travelers fleeing town, and the townsfolk celebrating their victory over the troublemakers. Dr. Quinn and Sully return to town, where they are greeted as heroes for their bravery in protecting the orphans.
