As a medical professional who specializes in treating dermatological issues, Dr. Pimple Popper, also known as Dr. Sandra Lee, has seen her fair share of unusual cases. In season 7 episode 7 of her hit show "Dr. Pimple Popper," titled "Ear's in Trouble!," she takes on a number of patients whose skin conditions are affecting their quality of life.
The episode begins with a patient named Ciera, who suffers from a rare genetic condition known as epidermolytic hyperkeratosis. This disorder causes her skin to become thick, scaly, and painful, particularly on her feet and hands. Despite undergoing numerous treatments over the years, Ciera's symptoms haven't improved, and she turns to Dr. Lee for help.
After examining Ciera's skin and taking a biopsy, Dr. Lee creates a plan to try and manage her symptoms. This involves using a combination of topical creams, urea socks, and probiotic soap to reduce the thickness of her skin and prevent future flare-ups. While Ciera's condition cannot be cured, Dr. Lee's treatment plan is designed to improve her quality of life and make it easier for her to perform everyday tasks.
The next patient is Charles, who has a rare skin condition that causes numerous growths to appear all over his body. In particular, he has a large cluster of bumps on his scalp that have caused him to lose hair in the affected area. While Charles has been able to manage his condition for years, he's concerned about the cosmetic impact of the growths and is hoping that Dr. Lee can help.
After taking a closer look at the growths, Dr. Lee determines that they are seborrheic keratoses, a type of benign skin growth that is often treated with cryotherapy or electrocautery. Using a combination of these techniques, Dr. Lee is able to remove the growths from Charles' scalp, and the results are immediate. Charles is thrilled with the outcome and says that his confidence has been restored.
The final patient is Tony, who has a large cyst on his ear that has been causing pain and discomfort for years. Despite trying to manage the cyst on his own, Tony has been unsuccessful, and he turns to Dr. Lee for help. After examining the cyst and performing an ultrasound, Dr. Lee determines that it's a sebaceous cyst, a type of benign growth that's filled with oily material.
Using a combination of local anesthesia and a small incision, Dr. Lee is able to remove the cyst from Tony's ear, much to his relief. The procedure is relatively straightforward, and Tony is able to go home the same day. In a follow-up appointment, Dr. Lee checks on Tony's progress and is thrilled to see that his ear has healed nicely and that he is no longer experiencing pain or discomfort.
Overall, "Ear's in Trouble!" is a testament to Dr. Pimple Popper's skill and expertise as a dermatological surgeon. The episode showcases a range of skin conditions, from the rare and debilitating to the more cosmetic in nature, and demonstrates how Dr. Lee is able to help patients improve their quality of life. With her compassion, humor, and dedication to her craft, Dr. Lee has changed the lives of countless individuals, helping them feel more confident in their own skin.
