Doug's Mail Order Mania is the fourth episode of the fourth season of the popular animated show Doug. The episode is centered around Doug's new obsession with buying things through the mail.
The episode starts with Doug receiving his first mail-order package, a pair of X-ray specs, which he is excited to use. However, when he puts them on, he realizes that they don't work as advertised and are just a cheap gimmick. Despite this setback, Doug becomes obsessed with mail-order shopping, hoping to find the perfect item that will change his life.
Meanwhile, Doug's friend Skeeter is busy starting his own fashion trend, dressing up like a famous rapper. Doug and his other friend, Patti, are not convinced that this is the right look for Skeeter, and they try to convince him to switch to a more sophisticated style. Skeeter refuses to listen to them and is determined to make his new style, which he calls "Skeeta Delic," catch on.
As Doug continues to receive more and more packages, he starts to realize that mail-order shopping is not as great as he thought it would be. He receives items that are cheaply made or that he doesn't need, including a fake beard and a set of magical potions that turn out to be nothing more than sugar water.
Despite the disappointments, Doug can't seem to stop ordering things. He becomes so obsessed that he even starts to dream about mail-order shopping. In his dreams, he enters a magical world filled with endless catalogs and giant packages.
Meanwhile, Skeeter's fashion trend starts to catch on at school, and he becomes the center of attention. However, as his popularity grows, so does his ego, and he starts to become arrogant and selfish. Doug and Patti try to talk to him about his behavior, but he refuses to listen.
In the end, both Doug and Skeeter realize that their obsessions have gone too far. Doug stops ordering things in the mail and realizes that the things he really wants in life, like friendship and adventure, can't be bought through a catalog. Skeeter, too, realizes that he needs to be true to himself and not try to please everyone else.
