- July 30, 2014
In Doraemon season 1 episode 17, entitled "Instant Delivery Magic!; Genie-less Magic Lamp", Doraemon and Nobita receive a mysterious package containing a lamp. It turns out to be a magic lamp - only without a genie inside. Nevertheless, the lamp is still a powerful tool that can help the boys in their everyday lives.
One of the first things that Doraemon and Nobita discover is that they can use the lamp to order anything they want from a nearby store. All they have to do is to rub the lamp and make a wish. Suddenly, whatever they've ordered appears in front of them, much to their amazement. This leads to some hilarious moments when they can't decide what to order and end up with a room full of random items.
While playing with the lamp, Doraemon and Nobita accidentally wish for their teacher to disappear. To their horror, their wish is actually granted, and their teacher vanishes into thin air. Now, they must use the magic lamp to bring her back before anyone notices she's missing.
As they try to find a way to reverse the wish, Doraemon and Nobita meet a thief who is also after the lamp. He tries to steal it from them, but they manage to fight him off. Unbeknownst to them, the thief has a connection to the magic lamp that they don't yet understand.
The boys eventually come up with a plan to bring their teacher back and make things right. They succeed, but not before their teacher discovers that something strange has been going on. In the end, they come clean and explain everything to her. Surprisingly, she is more amused than angry, and even asks to have a turn with the magic lamp.
Overall, "Instant Delivery Magic!; Genie-less Magic Lamp" is a fun and entertaining episode of Doraemon. It showcases the boys' cleverness as they learn how to use a powerful tool to their advantage, while also facing the consequences of their actions. The addition of a mysterious thief and the moral dilemma of bringing their teacher back make it an engaging storyline. Fans of the series will appreciate the humor and charm that the show is known for, while newcomers will find it to be a great introduction to the world of Doraemon.
