Dora the Explorer season 1 episode 12 is named "Grandma's House." In this episode, Dora and Boots visit Dora's grandmother in her house. They need to bring something to her from Dora's mother, but they don't know what it is. Dora's grandmother lives in a traditional house in the countryside with a garden full of fruit trees, a chicken coop and a pen with a goat, a pig and a cow.
As they start their journey, they meet the Grumpy Old Troll under his bridge. To pass, the troll asks them to solve a riddle. Dora and Boots successfully solve it and continue their journey. On the way, they face many obstacles like a river, a wall and a bridge. They use the Map to find the way and ask the viewer to help them to get to grandma's house.
When they finally find the house, they meet Dora's grandmother who is very happy to see them. They give her the present, which turns out to be a picture of Dora and her mother. Dora's grandmother tells them a story about when Dora's mother was a little girl and how they used to catch butterflies in the garden. Dora and Boots then help her to catch some butterflies too.
After that, they play hide and seek in the garden. Dora's grandmother hides a purple golden flower in the garden and challenges Dora and Boots to find it. They find the flower after going through a tree tunnel and a sunflower patch. Dora's grandmother tells them that the flower is called the "Purple Golden Flower" and it only grows in her garden.
Finally, Dora's grandmother shows them her chicken coop and her pen with the animals. Dora and Boots help her to feed them and collect some eggs. They also find a little chick that is lost and bring it back to its mother.
As the sun starts to set, Dora and Boots realize it's time to go home. They say goodbye to Dora's grandmother and use the Map to find their way back home. Along the way, they meet the Grumpy Old Troll again who asks them another riddle. They solve it and continue their journey back home. When they arrive, they are greeted by Dora's mother who is happy to see them.
"Grandma's House" is a heartwarming episode that teaches children the importance of family and the joy of spending time with loved ones. It also promotes problem-solving skills and encourages children to use their imagination and explore their environment.
