Doogie Howser, M.D. is a television show from the late 80s and early 90s about a teenage doctor named Douglas "Doogie" Howser. The show follows Doogie's daily life both in his personal and professional life while he navigates through the challenges of being a genius kid in a world of adults.

In season 2, episode 23, titled "Doogie's Wager," Doogie is faced with a challenge from his fellow doctor friend, Vinnie. Vinnie challenges Doogie to a bet that he couldn't go a week without being nice to his patients. If Doogie can't go a week without being nice to his patients, he will owe Vinnie $500.

Doogie accepts the challenge, but as the week progresses, he finds it harder and harder to be nice to his patients. With one patient in particular, Mrs. Wilcox, he becomes frustrated when she's unable to follow his treatment plan, and he begins to lose his temper.

Despite this setback, Doogie continues to try to be nice to his patients, even when it's difficult. He makes an effort to connect with them, asking them about their hobbies and interests, and even bringing them gifts.

Meanwhile, Doogie's girlfriend, Wendy, is also facing a challenge of her own. She's trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life and is feeling lost. She seeks advice from Doogie, who points out that he had to work hard to figure out what he wanted to do, and that she should take her time figuring it out too.

As the week comes to an end, Doogie starts to feel confident that he's won the bet. He's gone an entire week without losing his temper or being rude to his patients. However, when Vinnie comes to collect his money, he reveals that he's been secretly recording Doogie all week and has evidence that he wasn't always nice to his patients.

Doogie is surprised and disappointed, but rather than getting upset, he instead asks Vinnie what he can do to make it right. Vinnie says that he wants Doogie to perform a surgery with him, something that Doogie has never done before.

Doogie agrees, and they perform the surgery successfully. Afterward, Vinnie admits that he was impressed with how Doogie handled himself during the surgery, and that he's learned not to underestimate him.

In the end, Doogie learns an important lesson about being nice to his patients, and how important it is to show compassion and understanding. He also learns that sometimes it's better to just admit defeat and learn from your mistakes, rather than getting upset and angry.
