Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong have made it to the other side of island, where they find a pirate ship waiting for them. King K. Rool, the leader of the Kremlings, has come to finish off the Kongs in order to continue his plan of taking over the island. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong must defeat King K. Rool in order to retrieve the banana hoard and rid their home of the Kremlings once and for all!

After shutting down the Kremlings industrial operation, the Kongs nearly find themselves at the other side of the island. They must first clear through the Chimp Caverns, where the most difficult challenges and toughest enemies lie in wait, as they try to stop the Kongs from reaching their destination.

As the Kongs leave behind the frozen tundra of the mountaintop, they discover that the Kremlings have begun constructing a factory on the island, which is no doubt of precursor of things to come. The Kongs must act quickly, as they attempt to put an end to this operation.

Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong have reached the peak of the island, Gorilla Glacier. The Kongs will have to not only battle the Kremlings, but the dangerous elements as well.

After escaping the treacherous mines, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong end up in Vine Valley, where they will need to traverse through the giant forest, which hides some secret civilizations.

Leaving the Kongo Jungle behind, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong head into the treacherous Monkey Mines in search of their precious bananas. They'll need to navigate dark caves and abandoned mine shafts to clear the path.

Donkey Kong checks on his prolific banana hoard, only to discover that he has been robbed! A new adventure begins, as the Kong's set out to seek justice.
