Dogs of War was a reality television series that aired on A&E in 2014. The show centered around the lives of three American veterans and their service dogs. The dogs were specifically trained to help veterans suffering from PTSD. The show followed the lives of these veterans, their struggles with PTSD, and their attempts to reintegrate back into civilian life with the help of their four-legged friends. Each episode focused on a different veteran and his dog as they embarked on various missions to help other veterans.

The first veteran featured on the show was Matt, a former sniper in the Marine Corps who suffered from severe PTSD after serving in Iraq. Matt's service dog was a German Shepherd named Rico who had been specifically trained to detect anxiety and panic attacks in Matt. Throughout the season, viewers watched as Matt struggled with his PTSD and tried to re-establish a relationship with his family, thanks in large part to Rico's help.

The second veteran featured on the show was Tony, a former infantryman who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Like Matt, Tony also suffered from PTSD and had a difficult time adjusting to life back home. His service dog, a black Labrador named Milano, had been trained to help Tony transition back to civilian life by providing him with a sense of safety and companionship. In one memorable episode, Tony and Milano traveled to the Indianapolis 500 to help raise awareness about PTSD and the importance of service dogs for veterans.

The third and final veteran featured on the show was Ronnie, a former Army sergeant who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ronnie suffered from severe anxiety and depression as a result of his time in combat. His service dog, a yellow Labrador named Captain, had been trained to provide emotional support to Ronnie and help ease his symptoms. Throughout the season, viewers watched as Ronnie and Captain worked together to help other veterans, including one memorable episode where they travelled to Mississippi to help a veteran who had lost both of his legs in combat.

Overall, Dogs of War was a heartwarming and inspiring look at the power of human-animal bonds and how service dogs can help veterans suffering from PTSD. The show gave viewers an inside look at the struggles that veterans face when they return home and the incredible work that these specially trained dogs do to help them.
