In season 5 episode 18 of Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, titled "Run Home Roscoe!," Cesar meets a family with a newly adopted German Shepherd named Roscoe who has developed a bad habit of running away from home. The owners are struggling to control Roscoe and prevent him from escaping, which has become a daily routine for him.
Cesar observes Roscoe's behavior and realizes that he is acting out of fear and anxiety due to his past experiences. He uses his signature techniques to build trust and confidence in Roscoe and help him overcome his fear. Cesar teaches the owners how to communicate with Roscoe effectively and use positive reinforcement to reinforce good behaviors.
Throughout the episode, Cesar also addresses other common behavioral issues, such as separation anxiety and excessive barking, that Roscoe exhibits. He shows the owners how to create a structured routine for Roscoe to follow and how to provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
In addition to working with Roscoe, Cesar also works with the family's other dog, a Pit Bull named Jade. Jade has a history of aggression towards other dogs and has been isolated from the rest of the family as a result. Cesar helps the family understand how to manage Jade's behavior and slowly reintroduce her to the rest of the family.
As always, Cesar's methods prove successful, and by the end of the episode, Roscoe has stopped running away and is a much happier and confident dog. The owners are thrilled with the progress that Roscoe has made, and are grateful for Cesar's guidance in helping them create a harmonious home for all their pets.
