Toy Hospital: The Mayor's Speech / The Lake Monster follows the titular character Doc McStuffins as she and her team of toys work to heal some unusual patients. In the first half of the episode, "The Mayor's Speech," Doc's toys learn that the mayor of McStuffinsville will be giving a big speech at the Toy Hospital. However, as they prepare for the mayor's arrival, Doc and her friends become worried when they notice that some of the toys in the hospital are feeling nervous and anxious. As it turns out, the mayor's speeches tend to run long, and some of the toys are worried about missing their appointments with Doc. To help calm their fears, Doc comes up with a plan to keep the mayor's speech short and sweet, and everything goes off without a hitch.
In the second half of the episode, "The Lake Monster," Doc and her team meet a new patient: a toy named Great White Sharky who is convinced that there is a monster lurking in the nearby lake. Despite the other toys' skepticism, Doc takes Sharky's concerns seriously and sets out to investigate. Along the way, she and her friends encounter a number of obstacles, including a rowdy group of water skiers and a mysterious figure in a scuba suit. Eventually, Doc and her team discover the truth behind the "monster" and help Sharky overcome his fear.
