- April 11, 2012
In the second episode of the first season of the animated show "Doc McStuffins, Big Book of Boo-Boos," titled "Break Dancer/Bubble Monkey," viewers are introduced to two distinct cases encountered by Doc McStuffins and her team.
In the first case, a toy breakdancer named B-Boy has lost his ability to dance. The character, who is designed to dance and perform acrobatic moves, is experiencing difficulty in performing even the simplest of actions. This is causing the toy to feel upset and frustrated, which is also causing concern to his owner, a young boy. The show's protagonist, Doc McStuffins, takes charge of the situation, trying to figure out what's causing B-Boy's dance problems and how to help him restore his dance moves.
Doc McStuffins, a six-year-old girl who communicates with toys in distress, is a skilled pediatrician, and this expertise is applied to bring about B-Boy's recovery. She investigates the toy's inner workings and identifies a rusted gear as the cause of the problem. Doc's team works to disassemble the toy, replace the rusted part and put it all back together. The repairs work marvelously, and B-Boy regains his dance moves, which bring joy to the boy who owns him.
In the second case, an inflatable toy monkey named Bubble Monkey has deflated and feels unwell. Cuddles, a toy hamster in Doc's vicinity, is also feeling unwell, which suggests a possible link between the conditions of the two toys. Doc and her team obtain a diagnosis that determines that Bubble Monkey's temperature is the main culprit of the monkey's poor physical condition. They offer Bubble Monkey an ice pack treatment to lower his temperature, which is akin to treating a fever in a person.
Despite Doc's team's implementation of the treatment, Bubble Monkey's condition does not improve, and his condition worsens. So Doc has suggested something out of the box which is to perform a surgery immediately so that they can repair the damaged inner mechanism of Bubble Monkey. After a consultation and collaboration with all the toys in the clinic, they agree to work together to help Bubble Monkey. They carry out the surgery and Bubble Monkey emerges in good health and full of energy. Cuddles is also diagnosed and treated by the team, and he returns to his lively self.
