Diyar-E-Dil is a Pakistani television drama series that was aired in 2015. The show is based on the novel of the same name by Farhat Ishtiaq. The show is produced by Momina Duraid and directed by Haseeb Hassan. It stars Sanam Saeed, Hareem Farooq and Abid Ali in the lead roles. The show comprises a total of 33 episodes and was aired on Hum TV.
The story of Diyar-E-Dil revolves around the lives of Agha Jan (Abid Ali) and his two sons, Wali (Osman Khalid Butt) and Farah (Feroz Khan). Agha Jan is a well-respected man in his community and has great love for his ancestral home, Diyar-E-Dil. However, his two sons are poles apart in nature. Wali is an obedient and caring son, who is always ready to fulfill his father's wishes. Whereas, Farah is a rebel who despises his father's ways and his love for their ancestral home.
The story takes a turn when Agha Jan becomes seriously ill and wants to visit his ancestral home for one last time. Wali, who is always eager to please his father, makes arrangements to take him to Diyar-E-Dil. Farah, who is not interested in the family legacy, refuses to accompany them. However, after much convincing, he decides to accompany his father and brother on this trip.
Once they reach their ancestral home, they meet Fara (Hareem Farooq), a girl who was once in love with their uncle Behroze (Mikaal Zulfiqar). Behroze had left Fara on the day of their engagement to marry his cousin Ruhi (Sanam Saeed). This had left Fara heartbroken and she had since then been living in Diyar-E-Dil, taking care of the property.
Upon seeing Fara, both brothers are taken aback by her beauty and grace. Wali begins to develop feelings for her but keeps them hidden. Farah, on the other hand, shows no interest in her and continues with his usual ways. As the days pass, Agha Jan's health deteriorates, and he soon passes away, leaving behind a will that deeply affects the lives of his sons.
The will states that the property of Diyar-E-Dil be divided into two parts, one for each son. However, they are not to sell or exchange their parts, and they must work together to maintain the property. At first, both brothers are hesitant to agree to their father's wishes. However, realizing the importance of their father's legacy, they eventually agree to it.
As time passes, Wali and Fara grow closer, and their families begin to push them towards each other. However, Farah's resentment towards his father and his brother grows stronger, and he creates obstacles to keep them apart.
The show beautifully portrays the bond between a father and his sons, and how his legacy can bring his family together. It also tackles the issues of family politics and the responsibilities that come with owning a family legacy. The show's strong performances, direction, and storyline make it a must-watch for all drama lovers.
In conclusion, Diyar-E-Dil is a captivating drama series that is sure to leave a lasting impression on its viewers. With its powerful performances, beautiful direction, and engaging storyline, it is one of the best Pakistani dramas to come out in recent years.
