Ep 1. Descendants

Disney's Magic Bake-Off is a baking competition show where kids from across America compete to create the cutest and most magical baked treats. In season 1, episode 1, the contestants are tasked with creating desserts inspired by the Disney Channel Original Movie, Descendants.

The episode kicks off with the host, Dara Reneé, introducing the 12 contestants and judges: pastry chef Graciela Ines, food stylist Janice Sprout, and Descendants actress Sarah Jeffery. The contestants are split into two teams of six, and they must collaborate to create a main dish and a dessert.

The teams get straight to work, brainstorming ideas and assigning roles. One team decides to make a villain-inspired cupcake tower, complete with Ursula tentacles and Evil Queen apples. Another team creates a deconstructed apple pie, with caramel sauce and edible gold dust to mimic the magic mirror from Snow White.

As the baking begins, tensions rise. The teams must work against the clock and against each other, and there are setbacks along the way. One team accidentally spills flour all over the kitchen, while another team struggles to get their caramel to the right consistency.

After three hours of baking, the teams present their desserts to the judges. First up is the cupcake tower team, who explain the inspiration behind their villains and the flavors of their cupcakes. The judges note the creativity and love the flavors, but question the structural integrity of the tower.

Next, the deconstructed apple pie team presents their dish. They walk the judges through the different components of the dish, and explain how they incorporated the magic mirror into the presentation. The judges are impressed with the attention to detail and the flavors.

After deliberation, the judges announce the winning team and the bottom team. The winning team gets to choose an ingredient for the bottom team to incorporate into their next challenge. The bottom team must use black licorice in their next dessert. The contestants are then sent back to the kitchen to prepare for the next challenge.

The episode ends with a teaser for the next challenge, and the contestants feeling the pressure as the competition heats up. Disney's Magic Bake-Off promises to be a fun and delicious competition show that kids and families alike will enjoy.
