In the eleventh episode of season 3 of Dinosaur Train, titled "Classic in the Jurassic: Ultimate Face-Off / Back in Time," the Pteranodon family travels back in time to see some classic Jurassic creatures in a highly anticipated face-off. The episode is divided into two parts, with each part focusing on a different adventure.

In the first part, the Pteranodon family eagerly awaits a great event - the Ultimate Face-Off, where some classic Jurassic creatures will compete in various challenges to determine the ultimate champion. Buddy and his siblings are excited to lend their support and cheering skills to their favorite dinosaurs. Meanwhile, the conductor, Mr. Conductor, is equally excited to serve as the referee of the competition.

The challenge takes place in a stadium called the Classic in the Jurassic Arena, and the contestants include iconic dinosaurs like Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, and Triceratops. There are various activities that the contestants compete in, including a relay race, a strength test, and a race to the finish line. To ensure fairness, the conductor explains that each activity will test the contestants in different ways, and some activities may be better suited for certain dinosaurs than others.

Throughout the competition, the Pteranodon family cheers on the different dinosaurs. Buddy even has a favorite contestant, a small but mighty Ankylosaurus. Despite being initially considered as an underdog, he shines in several events and becomes a fan-favorite. In the end, the Ultimate Face-Off is a thrilling event with many twists and turns, and the Pteranodon family is left with a lot of exciting memories to cherish.

In the second part of the episode, the Pteranodon family travels back in time to the late Jurassic period, visiting a region known as the Morrison Formation. Here, they meet a newly discovered dinosaur species called the Junior Conductor, and join him on a tour of the area. The Junior Conductor is excited to show the Pteranodon family some of the famous Morrison Formation dinosaurs, such as Stegosaurus, Diplodocus, and Brachiosaurus.

As they explore the area, Buddy and his siblings learn about the different kinds of herbivorous dinosaurs that roamed the Morrison Formation. They also learn about how the dinosaurs lived, what they ate, and how they defended themselves against predators. Additionally, they get to witness the different kinds of plants that thrived in the area, including the popular ferns and conifers.

The highlight of the tour is when the group comes across a T-Rex. At first, the Pteranodon family is afraid, but the Junior Conductor reminds them that there's nothing to fear. Instead, they get to learn about the different techniques that herbivores use to avoid T-Rexes. They also get to witness how T-Rexes hunted, and how they were successfully able to take down prey.

Throughout the episode, the Pteranodon family learns about various aspects of dinosaur life and history. They also make new friends and have a lot of exciting adventures. The episode is full of fun, educational moments, and is sure to delight dinosaur fans of all ages.
