Elmer Elasmosaurus / Dinosaur Block Party is an exciting episode from the first season of Dinosaur Train. It follows the journey of Buddy, a curious young Tyrannosaurus Rex, who learns more about the history of dinosaurs and life on Earth through his adventures on the Dinosaur Train. In this episode, Buddy and his family embark on an underwater adventure where they meet Elmer, an Elasmosaurus who has an unusual tail that he uses to help him swim.
The episode begins as Buddy and his family board the Dinosaur Train and travel underwater to explore the prehistoric seas. They meet Elmer, an Elasmosaurus, who is excited to show them around his underwater world. Buddy is fascinated by Elmer's tail, which is much shorter than those of other Elasmosauruses. Elmer explains that he lost his original tail in a battle with a Tylosaurus, a fierce predator in the prehistoric seas. Because of the loss of his tail, Elmer struggled to swim and hunt for a long time, until he developed a unique way of using his front flippers to help him swim.
Buddy is amazed by Elmer's resilience and ingenuity and decides to help Elmer find a new tail. While exploring the area, Buddy comes across a group of ammonites, spiral-shaped creatures that once lived in the prehistoric seas. Buddy gets an idea to use the ammonites' shells to create a new tail for Elmer. Elmer is overjoyed with the new tail and thanks Buddy and his family for their help.
The second part of the episode, "Dinosaur Block Party," takes place on land, where Buddy and his family attend a dinosaur block party. The party brings together various species of dinosaurs from different time periods, all of whom are excited to celebrate their shared history. The party has lots of activities, such as a fossil dig, dinosaur dance, and a pizza party.
Buddy and his friends are having a blast at the party until they notice that there are some dinosaurs who are not having fun. A group of small dinosaurs called Deinonychuses is not able to participate in the activities because they are too small. Buddy comes up with the idea to create a special area just for the Deinonychuses, where they can have their own activities and games.
The Deinonychuses are thrilled with the new area and feel included in the party. Buddy and his friends learn an important lesson about being inclusive and making sure everyone feels welcome and celebrated, no matter their size or abilities. The party ends with a special cultural exchange, where each species of dinosaur shares something unique about their history and culture.
Overall, Elmer Elasmosaurus / Dinosaur Block Party is a fun and educational episode that teaches kids about the importance of resilience, ingenuity, and inclusion. The episode is filled with fascinating facts about dinosaurs and their world, and encourages children to get excited about history and science. The characters are engaging, and the animation is bright and colorful, making it a perfect show for young children.
