Erma Eoraptor / Under the Volcano is the 24th episode of Dinosaur Train season 1. In this episode, Buddy, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and his siblings, Tiny, Shiny, and Don, are on the Dinosaur Train with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pteranodon, when they meet a new dinosaur named Erma, an Eoraptor. Erma is a small, feisty dinosaur who loves to play hide-and-seek. She challenges the Pteranodons and Buddy and his siblings to find her among the rocky landscape of the Cretaceous period.
As they play hide-and-seek, the group discovers a volcano and they decide to explore it. However, the train's conductor, Troodon, reminds them that they need to be careful around volcanoes. They learn that volcanoes can be both dangerous and beneficial for dinosaurs. For example, some plants grow only in the nutrient-rich soil that is created by volcanic activity.
While exploring the volcano, the group encounters many different dinosaurs who are also interested in the volcano. They meet Val, a Valdosaurus, who is fascinated by the lava flowing from the volcano. They also meet Mayor Kosmoceratops, who is worried about the potential danger posed by the volcano. Mayor Kosmoceratops is concerned that the volcano might erupt and cause harm to the nearby dinosaurs.
Despite the mayor's worries, the group decides to climb inside the volcano to learn more about it. They discover that the volcano is not only fascinating, but also dangerous. They are surprised to learn that the volcano is actually dormant, meaning that it hasn't erupted in a long time. However, the group still has to be careful because there is always a risk of volcanic activity.
Throughout the episode, the group learns about the different types of volcanoes, including shield, cinder cone, and stratovolcanoes. They also learn about the importance of volcanoes to the environment and to the survival of dinosaurs. For example, the group learns that volcanic eruptions can create ash clouds that can lower global temperatures, which can then help the dinosaurs who are struggling to survive in the changing climate.
As the episode comes to a close, the group realizes that they need to be respectful of the power of the volcano. They decide to leave the volcano and return to the Dinosaur Train, where they continue their journey back to the Mesozoic era.
Erma Eoraptor / Under the Volcano is a fun and educational episode of Dinosaur Train that teaches children about volcanoes and other natural wonders. Children will be entertained by the playful antics of Erma and the other dinosaurs, while also learning about the important role that volcanoes play in the environment. Overall, this episode is a great way for children to learn about the natural world in a fun and engaging way.
