Dino Dana season 1 episode 4, "Dinos of a Feather / Dino Baby Talk," follows the adventures of Dana, a young girl who loves dinosaurs and wants to learn more about them. In "Dinos of a Feather," Dana is curious about why some dinosaurs have feathers. With the help of her friend Saara, Dana learns that some dinosaurs, like the Archaeopteryx, are actually ancestors of modern birds. Through her research, Dana discovers that feathers were used for more than just flight - many feathered dinosaurs used them for warmth and display as well. Dana is fascinated by all the different kinds of feathers and the animals that had them. In "Dino Baby Talk," Dana is intrigued by how baby dinosaurs communicated with their parents. She visits a nest of Maiasaura eggs and waits for them to hatch so she can observe the newborns. When they finally do hatch, Dana is amazed by how quickly the tiny dinosaurs begin communicating with their parents through sounds and body language. She realizes that even though they are from a different time, baby dinosaurs are not so different from baby animals today. Throughout the episode, Dana conducts research, asks questions, and makes observations about the dinosaurs she encounters. With the help of her friends and family, she gains a deeper understanding and appreciation for these incredible creatures from the past.
