In Dino Dana season 1 episode 13, titled "Dino Matchmaker / Lost and Sound," the young paleontologist Dana goes on two different adventures.
In the first half of the episode, "Dino Matchmaker," Dana sets her sights on finding a perfect match for a lonely female quetzalcoatlus. Dana feverishly researches various dinosaurs that might be compatible with the giant pterosaur before finally coming up with what she thinks is a perfect match- a male pteranodon. However, things don't go quite as planned when the quetzalcoatlus' surly demeanor puts off the friendly pteranodon. As Dana tries to figure out if there's any hope for a match, she learns a valuable lesson about the difficulties of matchmaking.
In the second half of the episode, "Lost and Sound," Dana helps out a hearing-impaired protoceratops whose herd has moved on, leaving him behind. Using her knowledge of how different dinosaurs communicate, Dana first tries to teach the protoceratops how to find the rest of his herd by listening for the sounds they make. When that proves to be too difficult, she instead teaches him how to read the vibrations of the ground to locate other dinosaurs. In the end, Dana manages to reunite the lonely protoceratops with his family and learns about the ingenuity of dinosaurs along the way.
Throughout both adventures, Dana's enthusiasm for paleontology and her incredible knowledge of dinosaurs shines through. With charming animation and plenty of dinosaur facts, "Dino Matchmaker / Lost and Sound" is a fun and fascinating episode of Dino Dana that kids will love.
