In the first half of the episode, Dan is eagerly waiting for a chance to study Moodindominus Rex, an elusive dinosaur that is known for changing colors according to its mood, specifically when it's angry. As he heads for the museum, he meets up with Zoey and her friend Bobby. They immediately notice that Dan seems a bit moody and quickly learn that he has been having a rough day.
Undeterred by Dan's moodiness, they decide to help him find the Moodindominus Rex. When they arrive at the museum, they are greeted by a group of schoolchildren who are also interested in seeing the unusual dinosaur. Dan's impatience causes him to become short with the children, making them feel unwelcome and confused. As Dan sulks in his frustration, Zoe and Bobby take matters into their own hands and try to find the elusive dinosaur themselves.
Their search takes them all over the museum, including to the basement where they stumble across a stop motion animation exhibit featuring models of different prehistoric creatures. As they watch the incredible exhibit, they notice that one of the models bears an uncanny resemblance to the Moodindominus Rex. Investigating closer, they discover that the model is indeed a perfect match. They hurry to show Dan, who is surprised but grateful for their help.
In the second half of the episode, Dan decides to make his own stop motion movie, starring himself and a group of his favorite dinosaurs. He uses his knowledge of the different behaviors of each dinosaur to create a fun and engaging scene. After the filming, Dan invites Zoey and Bobby to watch the movie and they are all impressed with his skills.
As they discuss Dan's filming techniques, they come up with a new game where they try to act like different prehistoric creatures, imitating their movements and sounds. The game is so much fun that they decide to have a competition to see who can create the best stop motion animation video based on their dinosaur imitations.
Overall, the Moody Dino/Stop Motion Dino episode is a fun-filled and educational adventure for children and adults alike.
