Digimon Xros Wars - The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time is an anime show created by Toei Animation that returned to the world of Digimon after a hiatus of almost a decade. The show originally aired from 2010 to 2011 and spanned two seasons. The show was directed by Tetsuya Endo and written by writers with a history of working on different animated shows like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.

The show follows the story of Taiki Kudo, who is transported to the Digimon world along with his friends Akari Hinomoto and Zenjirou Tsurugi. Upon their arrival, they discover the land is in distress and that the Digital World is being overrun by an evil army called the Bagra Army. The army's leader, Lord Bagra, has put together a team of generals made up of the Digital World's worst villains, who threaten the freedom of the Digimon. Taiki and his friends, along with a new cast of characters, team up with the Digimon to stop the Bagra Army and save the Digital World.

The cast of the show is large, and many well-known voice actors lent their voices to the characters. Bin Shimada is the voice actor for Shoutmon, the Digimon Taiki partners with. Chika Sakamoto portrays the character of Agumon, a classic character from the early years of Digimon. Daisuke Kishio plays the character Tagiru Akashi, a new protagonist who joins the team in the second season. Other notable voice actors in the show include Houko Kuwashima, Kokoro Kikuchi, Minami Takayama, and Takahiro Sakurai.

The animation style of the show is bright and colorful, a hallmark of Toei Animation's work. The characters have unique designs, and the Digimon in particular stand out. The show uses a mixture of traditional animation and CGI, with the Digimon being rendered in 3D. The action scenes are well-animated with fluid movement and plenty of energetic fight scenes.

One unique element of the show is the use of the Xros Loader as a device to upgrade the Digimon. The device allows Taiki and his friends to combine multiple Digimon into a single, more powerful creature called a Digimon Xros. The device also allows the Digimon to absorb fragments of data to grow stronger. The device and the process of creating a Digimon Xros is central to the plot of the show and is an interesting addition to the world of Digimon.

The show also includes multiple references to earlier seasons of Digimon, including characters and locations. This inclusion provides an extra layer of appeal for fans of the original series while also providing an opportunity for newcomers to the series to appreciate the history of the franchise.

The first season of the show, called Digimon Xros Wars, aired for 54 episodes and concluded with a satisfying conclusion. However, the story continued in the second season, Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time. The second season introduced a new protagonist, Tagiru Akashi, who possesses the ability to capture Digimon. Tagiru is initially a rival of Taiki, but they eventually team up to take on the Bagra Army. The second season aired for 25 episodes and provided a satisfying conclusion to the overarching narrative of the show.

In conclusion, Digimon Xros Wars - The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time is an enjoyable anime show that provided many new elements to the world of Digimon while also including references to the past. The story is engaging, and the characters are interesting and likable. The use of the Xros Loader device to create Digimon Xroses was an innovative idea that added a new layer of complexity to the show's lore. The animation is colorful and well-animated, and the voice actors gave strong performances. Fans of the Digimon franchise should definitely give this show a chance, and newcomers to the franchise will find a fun and engaging introduction.
