Guilmon Digivolves is the eighth episode in season one of Digimon Tamers. In this episode, Takato and Henry are trying to figure out how to make their Digimon partners, Guilmon and Terriermon, digivolve. They have heard that certain conditions must be met in order for their Digimon to evolve to the next level, and they are eager to see their partners become stronger.
Meanwhile, a new Digimon has appeared in the city. Its name is Devidramon, and it is causing destruction wherever it goes. The Digimon seems to be searching for something, but no one knows what that something might be.
As Takato and Henry search for a way to make their Digimon digivolve, they run into Rika, a Digimon tamer who also happens to be a champion-level Digimon. Rika's partner, Renamon, is already quite powerful, and Rika is not interested in digivolution. She believes that it is more important to train and hone her skills than it is to rely on the power of digivolving.
Takato, Henry, and Rika team up to track down Devidramon and try to stop it from causing any more damage. They eventually find the Digimon in a park and engage it in battle. It quickly becomes clear that Devidramon is much stronger than any of their partners, and they struggle to keep up with its attacks.
Just when it seems like all hope is lost, Guilmon suddenly digivolves to his champion-level form, Growlmon. With his new powers, Growlmon is able to hold his own against Devidramon and even lands a devastating blow that sends the Digimon running.
Takato and Henry are ecstatic to see that their hard work has paid off, and they now have a much stronger partner in Growlmon. However, Rika remains skeptical about the importance of digivolution. She still believes that training and skill are more important than relying on a temporary power boost.
As the episode comes to a close, Takato and his friends are left to wonder what other secrets digivolution may hold. They also know that they will need to continue training and preparing for whatever challenges lie ahead. With new enemies on the horizon, they will need all the strength they can get.
