In episode 2 of Digimon Frontier season 1, titled "E 2," the exciting adventure of the DigiDestined continues as they explore the mysterious Digital World. Picking up where the previous episode left off, Takuya, Koji, Zoe, J.P., and Tommy find themselves in a perplexing forest filled with danger and surprises.

The episode begins with the team still grappling with the fact that they have become Digimon themselves. Each of them possesses the ability to Spirit Evolve, transforming into powerful Digimon to combat the evil forces that threaten the Digital World. However, they are still coming to terms with their new Digimon forms and the responsibilities that come with being DigiDestined.

As they navigate through the dense forest, the group encounters a peculiar Digi-Egg sitting atop an ancient tree trunk. Fascinated by the enigmatic object, Takuya, the leader of the DigiDestined, decides to interact with the Digi-Egg. Little do they know, their actions will unlock a trail of tribulations and introduce them to a new ally.

Suddenly, the Digi-Egg begins to tremble, and a blinding light engulfs the area. The DigiDestined brace themselves as an extraordinary Digimon emerges from within the egg. Bursting onto the scene, this extraordinary creature introduces himself as Bokomon, a book-like Digimon with a thirst for knowledge. Bokomon's arrival brings with it a wealth of wisdom that may prove invaluable to the group's mission.

Bokomon explains that the Digital World is in grave danger; an ancient evil known as the Beast Spirits has been unleashed upon the land. It is up to the DigiDestined to harness their newfound powers and defeat this malevolent force. With Bokomon as their guide and a possible key to unlocking the Digital World's secrets, the DigiDestined set out on their quest to protect the Digital World.

As the group advances deeper into the forest, they encounter an obstruction in their path. A massive tree sprawled across their route forces them to find an alternate route. Fortunately, Bokomon reveals that there is a secret passage they can use to bypass the tree.

However, reaching the secret passageway is no easy task. The DigiDestined find themselves confronted by another Digimon—a hostile scorpion-like creature called ShellNumemon. Willing to defend themselves and prove their worth as DigiDestined, the team engages in their first real battle. Through their determination and the power of their Spirit Evolution, they defeat ShellNumemon and continue on their journey.

Finally, they arrive at the secret passageway. It leads them to an expansive underground cavern encrusted with countless glowing crystals. Drawn to the beauty and wonder of this spectacle, the DigiDestined realize that they are at the entrance to the Great Trailmon Race. This legendary race takes place among colossal train-like Digimon, the Trailmon, and offers an opportunity to witness the remarkable power of these mighty creatures.

As they bear witness to the Great Trailmon Race, the DigiDestined are in awe of the breathtaking display of speed, agility, and strength. They also observe the strategic skills employed by each participant in their quest for victory. Inspired by the event, the team understands that they too must train and hone their skills to overcome the perils that lie ahead.

"E 2" highlights the DigiDestined's early foray into the Digital World, as they encounter new allies, face their first real battle, and get a taste of the vast challenges that await them. With Bokomon's knowledge and guidance and the determination of the DigiDestined, they are beginning to understand the importance of their mission and the profound impact they can have on the Digital World.
