Ep 20. The Darkness Before Dawn

The Darkness Before Dawn is the twentieth episode of the second season of Digimon Adventure. In this episode, the Digimon, DigiDestined, and Ken continue their quest to defeat the evil Digimon Emperor. They have discovered several control spires, which amplify the Emperor's power and allow him to control other Digimon. In order to weaken the Emperor's power, they must destroy the control spires.
In the beginning of the episode, the group splits up to search for more control spires. Davis, Yolei, and Cody find one in an abandoned building, but they are quickly ambushed by the Emperor's forces. Davis and Yolei are captured, but Cody manages to escape and warn the others.
Meanwhile, Ken is struggling with his past as the Digimon Emperor. He is haunted by memories of when he used to control other Digimon and wants to make amends for his past actions. With the help of Wormmon, his Digimon partner, Ken decides to join the DigiDestined and fight against the Emperor.
Back at the control spire, the DigiDestined come up with a plan to rescue Davis and Yolei. They use a Digimon known as Floramon to distract the guards while they sneak into the building. Once inside, they confront the Emperor's right-hand man, Arukenimon.
Arukenimon is a spider-like Digimon who creates Digimon out of data by using control spires. She reveals that the Emperor's ultimate plan is to create a world where he is in complete control. The DigiDestined are determined to stop him.
Arukenimon summons several powerful Digimon to fight the DigiDestined. The battle is intense, but with the help of Ken and his Digimon, they manage to defeat the enemy Digimon and destroy the control spire.
The episode ends with Ken finally coming to terms with his past and embracing his role as a member of the DigiDestined. The group has successfully destroyed another control spire, but there are still many more to find. The Emperor's hold on the Digital World is weakening, but he is not yet defeated. The DigiDestined must continue their quest to save the Digital World and stop the Emperor's evil plans.
