In Digimon Adventure season 1 episode 16, titled "The Arrival of SkullGreymon," Tai and Agumon are still struggling to control their Digivolving abilities. During a training session, Tai decides to push Agumon to his limit, resulting in Agumon Digivolving to his ultimate form, SkullGreymon.

However, SkullGreymon's immense power is uncontrollable and he begins attacking everything in his path, including his own friends. Tai and the rest of the digi-destined try to find a way to stop SkullGreymon before he causes any more damage.

Meanwhile, the villainous Devimon watches with glee as he sees the chaos caused by SkullGreymon. He sends his minions to attack the digi-destined, hoping to further disrupt their mission to save the digital world.

The digi-destined are forced to split up, with some battling the minions and others searching for a way to control SkullGreymon. Tai and Matt eventually come up with a plan to subdue SkullGreymon's power and return Agumon to his original form.

In the end, the digi-destined are able to regroup and continue their journey to defeat Devimon and save the digital world. However, Tai is left to wonder if he made the right choice in pushing Agumon too far and causing the chaos that led to SkullGreymon's arrival.
