Ep 403 - The Model:
In this episode of Diff'rent Strokes, Arnold and his friend, Dudley, get a chance to work as models for a popular clothing company. Excited at the prospect of making some money, they eagerly accept the offer and head to the photo shoot.
However, things don't go as smoothly as they had hoped. Mr. Drummond, Arnold's adoptive father, is concerned about the clothing company's reputation and their potential use of child labor. Arnold and Dudley are also surprised to learn that the job involves wearing short shorts and tank tops, which makes them uncomfortable.
As the day goes on, Arnold and Dudley become increasingly disillusioned with the modeling industry. They witness how people can be rude and dismissive if they don't like their appearance, and they start to question the value of being judged based on their looks.
Meanwhile, Mr. Drummond is busy doing some investigating of his own. He discovers that the clothing company is indeed using child labor, and he confronts the owner about it. The owner is defensive at first, but after hearing Mr. Drummond's concerns, he agrees to change his business practices.
In the end, Arnold and Dudley decide that modeling is not for them, and they are relieved to be done with the job. They learn an important lesson about self-worth and the dangers of putting too much emphasis on physical appearance. Mr. Drummond is proud of them for standing up for what's right and for not compromising their values.
