Arnold and Willis' new affluent friends, Tucker and Lisa, convince them to attend a prestigious prep school. Despite their initial misgivings, Mr. Drummond agrees to pay for the boys' tuition. However, when Arnold and Willis arrive at the school, they quickly discover that they do not fit in with the wealthy student body and struggle to keep up with the rigorous academic curriculum.

As they try to adjust to their new surroundings, Arnold and Willis find themselves the targets of bullies and ridicule. They also struggle to make any meaningful connections with their classmates, despite their best efforts. Meanwhile, Mr. Drummond receives some surprising news from an old friend, which causes him to rethink his decision to enroll Arnold and Willis in the prep school.

As the boys begin to feel increasingly isolated and out of place, they start to lose confidence in themselves and their abilities. However, a chance encounter with a sympathetic teacher helps to reignite their passion for learning and gives them the courage to stand up to their bullies.

Through their experiences at the prep school, Arnold and Willis learn important lessons about diversity, acceptance, and the true value of education. And although they ultimately decide to return to their old school, they emerge from the experience with a newfound sense of self-worth and a deeper appreciation for the opportunities afforded to them by their adoptive father, Mr. Drummond.
