On May 20th, 1999 in the Utah desert, Steve's friend Gregg had cameras set up to videotape the 160-foot jump. Steve approached the jump at 80 mph but did not have enough momentum to clear the gap.

Caught on tape, 16-year old Sean Denehy went down in a hard-hitting tackle while playing in a football game for Monroe Township High School in New Jersey. Sean couldn't move anything below his neck. Paramedics rushed him to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. His C-4, 5, and 6 vertebrae were crushed together rupturing the discs in-between and shattering the C-5.

The 19-year-old galley steward on a scientific research ship was on a swim break in the South Pacific Ocean when one of her shipmates yelled "shark!" She tried to swim to safety, but she wasn't fast enough. The shark pulled her under the water.

Dan Pastor, 24, is one of the world's top motocross jumpers. On August 10th, 2004 Dan was performing spectacular jumps near Santa Barbara, CA, while a friend filmed him from a helicopter. As the camera zoomed in on Dan, he took an enormous jump, and flew as high as the chopper, before sailing back to earth. But he overshot his landing, and crashed at 70 mph.

Indy car driver Kenny Brack was racing at the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas when his car spun out of control and hit a wall at over 200 mph. The race car exploded into pieces, with Kenny's cockpit taking nearly 100 G's of impact - 15 times the force at which airplane fighter pilots pass out.

After biking for some time, Anne rode out of Debbi's sight, when all of a sudden a mountain lion leapt from the bushes and pounced on Anne, biting deep into her neck and dragging her into the brush.
