Dharma & Greg season 4 episode 16, titled "Judy & Greg," follows the main characters Dharma and Greg as they prepare for their upcoming marriage. However, their plans are put on hold as Greg's mother, Judy, unexpectedly arrives in town for a visit.

Judy is a conservative and traditional woman, which creates tension within Dharma and Greg's liberal and non-traditional lifestyle. Dharma tries to compromise with Judy through various attempts to cater to her traditional values, including cooking a dinner that follows her strict dietary preferences. However, despite her efforts, Judy fails to recognize or appreciate Dharma's gestures.

Furthermore, Judy's arrival also causes conflict between Greg and his father, who has been estranged from the family for years. As Greg tries to reconcile with his father, Judy tries to undermine their relationship by insisting that the family should not be reunited. This leads to a heated argument between Greg and Judy, which ultimately prompts Judy to leave town earlier than planned.

The episode also takes a brief look into the other characters' lives, including Dharma's friend Jane and her difficult pregnancy, as well as their quirky group of friends attempting to start a band.

Despite the conflict caused by Judy's visit, the episode ultimately highlights the importance of family and the idea that family comes in many forms. Whether it be biological or chosen, family can provide support and love during challenging times.
