Dexter season 7 episode 4, titled "Run" focuses on the aftermath of the brutal murder of Detective Mike Anderson. Dexter is still trying to piece together what happened the night Anderson was killed, while Deb is convinced that someone within the department is responsible for the crime. She becomes increasingly frustrated as all of the leads seem to go nowhere, and her relationship with Dexter is strained as a result.
Meanwhile, Dexter is juggling his usual routine of killing murderers with his new role as a father to Harrison. He's still struggling to connect with Rita's children, and worries that he's not doing enough to make sure they're happy and healthy.
As the investigation into Anderson's murder continues, Dexter becomes increasingly convinced that the killer is someone within his inner circle. He starts to investigate his coworkers and friends, turning up new, disturbing information with every lead.
At the same time, Deb is grappling with her own demons. She's still dealing with the guilt of having killed LaGuerta, and her relationship with Quinn is threatened by his own involvement in the department's shady dealings.
The tension between Deb and Dexter comes to a head when she confronts him about his role in covering up evidence in the Anderson case. She's unsure of his motives, and it becomes clear that their relationship may never fully recover.
In the final moments of the episode, Dexter discovers a shocking piece of evidence that points to the killer's identity. He's torn between his obligation to justice and his desire to protect those he cares about. It's a decision that will have long-lasting consequences for everyone involved.
