In Desperate Housewives season 5 episode 5, titled Mirror, Mirror, viewers are taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as the women of Wisteria Lane find themselves facing various challenges, both old and new.
The episode opens with Bree struggling to come to terms with the fact that her son, Andrew, is moving to Europe with his partner. She is torn between her love for her son and her disapproval of his lifestyle, and her emotions spill over in a confrontation with her daughter, Danielle.
Meanwhile, Gabrielle is having her own parenting woes, as her daughter, Juanita, begins to act out and push boundaries. Gabrielle is unsure how to handle the situation, but when she discovers that it is a manifestation of her own unresolved issues with her mother, she is able to make amends and move forward.
Elsewhere on the lane, Lynette is trying to find a way to bond with her teenage son, Porter, but her efforts are thwarted by his girlfriend, Anne. When Porter falls into some trouble with the law, Lynette is forced to make a tough decision about his future.
And finally, Susan is still reeling from the aftermath of her breakup with Mike. As she tries to come to terms with her feelings, she finds herself drawn to a new man, Jackson, but is hesitant to take the relationship to the next level.
Throughout the episode, the theme of self-reflection is woven in, prompting the characters to examine their own flaws and shortcomings. As each woman confronts her own demons, they are forced to evaluate their relationships and re-prioritize their values.
Mirror, Mirror is a touching and poignant episode of Desperate Housewives, that will leave viewers laughing, crying, and cheering for the fierce and fabulous women of Wisteria Lane.
