Suzanne has been feeling very lonely lately and has realized that she doesn't have any real friends outside of her circle of acquaintances. She decides to take matters into her own hands and try to find a new friend.
After asking the other women for advice, Suzanne tries various ways of meeting new people. She joins a book club and attends a charity event, but is unsatisfied with the people she meets.
Finally, she meets someone who seems like a good fit - a young woman named Jenny who works as a receptionist at a doctor's office. Suzanne is thrilled to have found someone who she can talk to and confide in.
However, their friendship hits a snag when Jenny invites Suzanne to a party and introduces her to her friends. Suzanne feels out of place and doesn't feel like she connects with any of them. She also becomes jealous of how close Jenny is to her other friends.
Suzanne eventually confronts Jenny about her feelings and they have a heart-to-heart conversation about what it means to be a true friend. Suzanne realizes that she needs to be more open and accepting of others in order to form meaningful relationships.
Meanwhile, Mary Jo is dealing with her own issues as she prepares to send her son to college. She is having a hard time letting go and feels anxious about his future. Julia and Charlene try to reassure her that everything will be okay and that she has done a great job as a mother.
The episode ends on a heartwarming note as the women all come together for a family dinner and share laughs and memories. Suzanne is shown to have a newfound appreciation for the people in her life and the importance of true friendship.
