In episode 2 of the first season of Delicious, we find Gina and Leo eager to start their newest adventure: turning the Penrose Hotel into a successful business. However, they quickly realize that it won't be an easy task. First, they must convince the Penrose family to sell them the hotel, which seems to be a daunting task. The family is reluctant to sell as the hotel has been in their family for years.
Meanwhile, Sam is struggling to accept the fact that her mother, Gina, has moved on from her father and is now involved with Leo. Her resentment towards him continues, as she believes that he is trying to replace her father. Molly, on the other hand, is excited to have both Gina and Leo in her life and is anxious to help them with their new project.
Gina and Leo work hard to impress the Penrose family, and it seems like their efforts are paying off. However, things take a turn when Jean, the matriarch of the family, reveals to Gina that the hotel's finances are in disarray. Gina is shocked and worried, and she decides to look into the matter immediately. She digs deeper and finds out that the hotel is in huge debt, putting its future in jeopardy.
While all of this is going on, Teresa, a long-time employee of the hotel, is struggling with personal issues. Her son has been arrested, and she is dealing with the aftermath. Her son's girlfriend, who also happens to work at the hotel, is causing trouble, which adds to Teresa's stress. The situation reaches a boiling point when she discovers something that shocks her to the core.
Leo, Gina, and Molly try to find a way to bring the hotel back to life. With Leo's expertise in the hospitality industry and Gina's love for food, they decide to turn the hotel into a food destination. They plan to use their culinary skills to create menus for the hotel's restaurant, hoping that it will attract more customers and bring in more revenue.
