#HugeIfTrue is the fifth episode of the third season of Degrassi: Next Class which aired on January 13th, 2017. The episode revolves around the concept of trust as different characters face different challenges in their lives.
Zig (played by Ricardo Hoyos) is struggling to keep up with his musical commitments and his school work which is causing him constant anxiety. He turns to marijuana to cope with his stress but soon realizes that his problem is not going away on its own, it's only getting worse. Zig has to learn to trust his friends profoundly and open-up to them. Will he be able to overcome his addiction with his friend's help?
Meanwhile, Frankie (played by Sara Waisglass) is basking in the joy of her blossoming relationship with Jonah (played by Ehren Kassam). But, her world is turned upside down when a video is released online, implying that Jonah is gay. Frankie is confused and skeptical about the video's validity, and she wonders how much she trusts Jonah. She confronts him and discovers a side of him she never knew existed. Will their relationship survive the shocking revelation?
Elsewhere, Hunter (played by Spencer MacPherson) is still struggling to come to terms with the death of his father. He finds solace in video games and gets deeply immersed into them, refusing to face the real world. Hunter's friends are worried about him, and they are trying to encourage him to move on. Will Hunter find the courage to leave his video games behind and start living life again?
Furthermore, Maya (played by Olivia Scriven) is still dealing with the aftermath of the bus accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Maya is now determined to walk down the aisle at her sister's wedding but is worried that she won't accomplish her goal. Despite her doubts and fears, Maya perseveres and works hard to regain her strength and independence. How will things unfold for Maya on the big day?
Lastly, Grace (played by Nikki Gould) is determined to set up a successful charity event. But, her organizational skills are put to the test when she loses control of her team. Grace is quick to place the blame on her teammates, but she soon realizes that she has to trust her team if they are to succeed. Will Grace be able to let go of her ego, and work as a part of a team?
#HugeIfTrue is a beautifully crafted episode, which tackles various issues relevant to today's youth. The characters are well-developed, and their stories interconnect, making it easy for the audience to relate to any of them. The acting is top-notch, with each actor delivering a moving performance that stays with you long after the episode is over. The tension throughout the episode is palpable, keeping viewers glued to their screens. Overall, #HugeIfTrue is an episode that seamlessly blends emotions, awareness, and entertainment. It's an episode not to be missed.
