Maya is still dealing with her grief after the death of Cam. While she tries to move on and enjoy her life, she can't escape the pain that she's feeling. Meanwhile, the other students at Degrassi are dealing with their own problems. Zoë is struggling with the fact that her mother is an alcoholic and may be the reason for her father's suicide. She doesn't know if she can trust her mother or if she should even try to have a relationship with her.
In the midst of all these issues, a rumor starts circulating that Zoë is gay. At first, she tries to ignore it, but when people start to treat her differently at school, she realizes that she needs to do something about it. She talks to her friends to try to figure out where the rumor started and how she can stop it, but she doesn't get any answers.
Meanwhile, Maya is dealing with her own issues. She's trying to move on from her grief, but it's not easy. She gets involved with a new guy, but she can't stop thinking about Cam. When she hears the rumor about Zoë, she's torn. She doesn't want to get involved, but she also doesn't want to sit on the sidelines and watch someone else get hurt.
As the rumor spreads, Zoë realizes that she needs to take action. She decides to come out as gay and try to fight back against the rumor. She talks to her friends and family and comes up with a plan to show everyone that being gay is nothing to be ashamed of.
The episode ends with Zoë's plan coming to fruition. She stands up in front of the entire school and tells them that she's gay. She talks about her mother's struggles with alcoholism and her father's suicide and how these experiences have made her stronger. She tells the school that she's proud of who she is and that she won't let anyone make her feel bad about it.
Maya watches from the sidelines and realizes that she needs to take a page out of Zoë's book. She needs to be strong and stand up for what she believes in. Even though she's still struggling with her grief, she knows that she can't let it hold her back forever. As the episode ends, she looks forward to a brighter future, filled with new possibilities and new opportunities.
