Ep 13. Confession

After the events of the previous episodes, Light Yagami spends his time trying to figure out how to regain control of the Death Note. Meanwhile, L and the task force continue their investigation into the Kira case and are getting closer to identifying the second Kira. The episode begins with Light confiding in his father, Soichiro Yagami, about how he believes the Kira case is causing the deaths of innocent people, and how he feels that Kira is a monster that needs to be stopped. Soichiro is moved by Light's words and feels that he has a newfound respect for his son.

The episode then jumps to Misa Amane, who has been captured by the task force and is being interrogated by L. L pushes Misa to confess that she is the second Kira, but Misa denies everything. However, L is convinced that Misa is involved in the Kira case and decides to use a truth serum to extract a confession from her.

Meanwhile, Light and Ryuk come up with a plan to get the Death Note back from the task force. They realize that the Death Note is being held in a locker at the police station, and decide to plant a fake Death Note in the locker that will lead the task force into a trap. Light puts his plan into action and is successful in tricking the task force into taking the fake Death Note.

Back at the task force headquarters, L continues to interrogate Misa, but she remains tight-lipped. Finally, L decides to use a desperate measure and introduces a second Kira suspect to the room. The second suspect is a man that Misa has never met before, but L convinces her that he is the real second Kira. L then leaves the room, leaving Misa alone with the second suspect.

In the room, Misa confesses to the second suspect that she is the real second Kira, and that she killed all of the people that Kira was accused of killing. However, the second suspect turns out to be Light in disguise, and he records Misa's confession on a hidden camera.

In the final scenes of the episode, Light approaches L and the task force and hands them a video tape. Light tells L that the tape contains the confession of the second Kira, but L is suspicious. He watches the tape and sees the confession of Misa, but he notices that the video quality is fuzzy and unclear. L realizes that someone has tampered with the video, and begins to suspect that Light is involved.

The episode ends with L confronting Light and accusing him of being Kira. Light denies the accusation and argues that he is a valuable member of the task force. However, L remains suspicious of Light's involvement in the Kira case.
