DI Jack Mooney is back in this thrilling season 7 of Death in Paradise, and nothing seems to have changed in the picturesque tourist town of Saint Marie - except Jack now has a new member to his team and a whole host of new murders to solve.

In this season opener, "Episode 1", Jack and his team are called to investigate the death of a young backpacker, Anna, who has been found dead in her hostel room with no apparent cause of death. With no signs of foul play and her door locked from the inside, it looks to be a suicide at first glance. But Jack has a hunch that there's more to this case than meets the eye, and soon discovers that Anna's travel journal may hold the key to solving the mystery.

As Jack and his team delve deeper into Anna's journal, they uncover a tangled web of secrets and deceit, with suspects ranging from an off-grid hippie commune to a wealthy couple with a dark past. Meanwhile, Jack must also navigate personal drama, as his daughter Siobhan visits from London and throws his love life into disarray.
