DI Goodman is preparing to bid farewell to Saint Marie when a case thrusts him into the world of indecent proposals. A blind woman, Esther Monroe, reports the murder of her fiancé, Lee, only to later admit that she was the killer. As Goodman and the team dig deeper into the case, they uncover a web of deceit and betrayal involving Esther, Lee, and his brother, George.
Despite Esther’s confession, Goodman is convinced that there’s more to the story than meets the eye. His investigation takes him back to Lee’s office, where he discovers that the dead man had been involved in some shady business dealings with his brother, George. When George’s alibi proves to be shaky, Goodman starts to suspect him of having a vendetta against his own flesh and blood.
Meanwhile, Officer JP Hooper faces a personal crisis when his wife, Rosey, announces her intentions to move to the UK with their daughter. Feeling torn between his personal and professional commitments, JP tries to keep his emotions in check as he hunts for clues to crack the case.
As the investigation comes to a head, Goodman uncovers a shocking insurance fraud scheme that has links to the murder. With time running out, he races against the clock to gather the evidence he needs to take down a killer and bring justice to Lee’s memory.
In the end, Goodman bids farewell to Saint Marie, content in the knowledge that he has left the island in safer hands. Along with his team of dedicated detectives, he has solved another case in the paradise that is Saint Marie.
