DI Goodman and the team find themselves investigating the murder of a famous author who had just arrived on the island to give a lecture. The author, Frank O'Toole, had a reputation for being difficult to work with and had previous altercations with his publisher and editor. However, the team soon discovers that Frank was not the only one with secrets, as they delve deeper into the complicated relationships between those who knew him best.
As they investigate, they uncover a tangled web of affairs, deceit, and jealousy among O'Toole's circle of friends and acquaintances. The team must also navigate the arrival of O'Toole's estranged daughter, who has come to the island to confront her father but finds herself embroiled in the investigation.
Meanwhile, DI Goodman continues to grapple with his own personal demons as the anniversary of his wife's death approaches. With the help of Florence and the rest of the team, he begins to confront his grief and consider moving on with his life.
As the investigation comes to a close, the team must race against time to uncover the killer's identity before they strike again. With plenty of twists and turns along the way, Death in Paradise Season 6 Episode 6 is a thrilling and entertaining addition to the popular murder mystery series.
