Ep 1. Episode 1

In Death in Paradise season 4 episode 1, entitled "Episode 1," viewers are reintroduced to the infamous DI Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris Marshall. This time, Humphrey has to tackle the case of a wealthy British businessman who is found dead in his home on the fictional island of Saint Marie.

One of the main suspects in the case is the victim's wife, Marianne Thorpe (played by Amanda Burton). Humphrey and his team are quick to discover that the Thorpes' marriage was not as happy as it appeared on the surface. In fact, Marianne had recently found out about her husband's infidelity and had threatened to leave him.

As the investigation continues, Humphrey and his team begin to uncover more secrets about the victim and his family. For example, it's revealed that Alan's brother, Nicholas Thorpe (played by Richard Clothier), had been cut out of the family business and was bitter about it. Additionally, Alan's son, Harry Thorpe (played by Harry Peacock), had a history of drug abuse and had recently been cut off financially by his father.

Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to the beautiful scenery of Saint Marie, as well as some comic relief from Danny John-Jules' character, Dwayne Myers. However, the mystery at the center of the episode is always at the forefront, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats as they try to piece together the clues along with Humphrey and his team.

As the episode builds towards its conclusion, Humphrey and his team finally discover the identity of the killer and the motive behind the crime.
