In Death in Paradise season 3 episode 2, the team is back on the island of Saint-Marie investigating a chilling murder case. The episode starts off with a young woman, Sian Evans, leaving a club after a night out with friends. She stumbles upon a body lying in the street, and upon closer inspection, realizes that it is somebody she knows – a local sailor named Jackson Scott.
The team is called in to investigate the murder, and DI Richard Poole (played by Ben Miller) quickly gets to work. He interviews Jackson's colleagues and landlord, but they all seem to have a solid alibi. As if that wasn't enough of a challenge, a storm rolls in, causing chaos on the island and hampering their investigation.
Meanwhile, Officer Dwayne Myers (played by Danny John-Jules) is dealing with his own problems, as his father has come to the island looking for him. Dwayne's father is not impressed with his son's profession and wants him to come back home to England and start a "real" career.
Back to the murder investigation, Poole and his team eventually realize that Jackson was involved in something shady. They find a stash of drugs hidden in his boat, and it seems that he was involved in smuggling drugs into the island. This opens up a whole new line of inquiry, and the team tries to uncover who Jackson was working with.
As the investigation progresses, they identify a prime suspect, but things take a shocking turn, with another murder happening on the island. This forces the team to pivot and try to solve both cases at once, which is not an easy task.
The episode is full of red herrings and unexpected twists and turns, which will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. It also delves into the personal lives of the characters, giving insight into their backgrounds and motivations.
Overall, Death in Paradise season 3 episode 2 is a gripping murder mystery that will leave the viewers guessing until the end. With a great cast and beautiful setting, it's a must-watch for fans of crime dramas.
