In Series 1, Episode 8 of Death in Paradise, we see Detective Inspector Richard Poole and his team investigate the murder of a wealthy businessman during a charity auction. The victim, Cedrik Verga, is found dead in his hotel room with a knife wound to the chest. Cedrik had been bidding on a rare Bocage sculpture but had lost to Dwayne Myers, a member of the police staff.
