In Deadly Women season 5 episode 12, titled "Sins of the Sister," viewers are taken on a journey through the chilling stories of three women whose relationships with their sisters turned deadly.
The episode begins with the tale of Jeannie Clark, a devoutly religious woman who became increasingly enraged with her promiscuous sister, Lorraine. Despite their stark differences in lifestyle and personality, the sisters continued to live together until one fateful night when Jeannie snapped and stabbed Lorraine to death. Though it appeared to be a premeditated crime, Jeannie claimed it was an act of self-defense and was ultimately acquitted of the murder.
Next, the episode delves into the life of Marjorie Orbin, a Las Vegas exotic dancer who was married to a wealthy business executive named Jay Orbin. Marjorie's jealousy of her sister, Janet, led her to concoct a sinister plan to murder Janet and assume her identity in order to escape a troubled marriage. After successfully carrying out the murder, Marjorie eluded authorities for years before ultimately being charged with the crime and sentenced to life in prison.
The final story of the episode centers around Betty Gore, a Texas housewife who appeared to have it all - a loving husband, two beautiful children, and a thriving social life. But when Betty's sister-in-law, Candy Montgomery, began experiencing marital troubles, Betty's world was turned upside down. In a fit of jealousy and rage, Betty brutally murdered Candy with an ax while her children were in the next room. Despite the heinous nature of the crime, Betty's defense team argued that her mental state at the time of the murder left her incapable of fully understanding her actions, ultimately resulting in a controversial verdict.
Throughout the episode, viewers are presented with in-depth interviews with law enforcement officials, family members, and legal experts, providing a wealth of insights into the motivations and mindsets of each of the deadly women featured. With its haunting tales, vivid visuals, and expert storytelling, "Sins of the Sister" is not to be missed by true crime enthusiasts and fans of the Deadly Women series.
