In Deadly Women Season 14 Episode 9, titled "Dangerous Liaisons," the focus is on women who are driven to kill by their relationships. The episode looks at three cases, each involving a woman whose romantic partner or lover either pushed her to kill or was the target of her deadly obsession.
The first case is that of Teresa Perez, a young woman who becomes infatuated with her stepfather, Julian Delgado. Despite being married with children, Julian begins an illicit affair with Teresa, who sees him as the love of her life. When Julian's wife, Dolores, discovers the affair, she leaves him and takes their children with her. Julian turns to Teresa for comfort, but she is angry at him for not leaving his wife for her. In a fit of rage, Teresa shoots Julian multiple times and kills him.
The second case features Kimberly Parker, a woman who has a history of abusive relationships. She meets her latest boyfriend, Sean McGuire, through a dating app, but the relationship quickly turns toxic. Sean is physically and emotionally abusive towards Kimberly, and she becomes convinced that he is seeing other women. In a fit of jealousy and rage, Kimberly stabs Sean to death in his own apartment.
The final case is that of Amber Trudell, a woman who is consumed by her love for her boyfriend, T.J. Holland. T.J. is a drug dealer and Amber is addicted to the drugs he sells. When T.J. cheats on Amber with another woman, she becomes enraged and decides to take revenge. She lures T.J. to a remote location, where she shoots him and disposes of his body.
Throughout the episode, we hear from experts who explain why these women may have been driven to commit murder by their relationships. They discuss the concept of "fatal attraction," which refers to the idea that some people become so obsessed with their partners that they are willing to do anything, including kill, to keep them. Additionally, they explain how domestic abuse can push a victim to the brink of violence, and how drug addiction can cloud one's judgment and lead to deadly consequences.
As with all episodes of Deadly Women, "Dangerous Liaisons" is a chilling look at the darker side of human nature. It highlights how love and obsession can be powerful motivators for violence, and how anyone, regardless of gender, can become a killer. Viewers are left to ponder the question: could they, too, be driven to murder under the right circumstances?
