The episode "Turf War" is the second episode of the eighth season of the reality series Deadliest Catch. The show follows several fishing boats as they navigate the treacherous waters of the Bering Sea in search of king crab and other valuable marine life.
In this episode, tensions between the different fishing boats continue to rise as the competition for valuable fishing grounds heats up. The episode begins with the captain of the Time Bandit, Andy Hillstrand, getting frustrated with the amount of boats in the area. He complains that "it's like a frickin' parking lot out here" as he tries to navigate through the sea.
Meanwhile, the Cornelia Marie, captained by Josh Harris, is having engine trouble. They bring in a mechanic to try and fix the problem, but it looks like they may have to return to port for repairs. This causes Josh to worry about falling behind in the competition for crab.
On the Northwestern, Captain Sig Hansen is having his own problems. His son, Edgar, has been injured and needs to go to the hospital. Sig is torn between staying with the boat and making sure his son is alright. In the end, he decides to stay with the boat and let his brother take Edgar to the hospital.

At the same time, the crews of the Wizard and the Kodiak are in a race to see who can pull up the most crab pots in a 24-hour period. This friendly competition quickly turns into a heated rivalry as both crews become more and more determined to come out on top.
As the episode comes to a close, the competition heats up even further. The Seabrooke catches a large quantity of crab, but the crew members are worried that the crab won't be of high quality. Meanwhile, the Time Bandit finds a large amount of king crab in their pots, but their hydraulic system starts to fail.
